About the opportunity: The Boland Group is a retained search firm specializing in recruiting
mission critical positions for companies in energy intensive industries. We’ve been engaged by a
profitable, steadily growing global firm
headquartered in Europe to recruit a general manager for the U.S.
market. Our client’s Integrated
Security Solutions encompass three high growth industry segments:
- Access Controls, including state-of-the-market Integrated Security System Solutions
- Building Automation and Control Systems, with a focus on active Energy Management
- Mission Critical Infrastructure Solutions for Critical Environments
Reporting directly to the CEO, this Managing
Director role is a newly created leadership
position that will provide a career-defining opportunity for the successful candidate. As the general manager for the U.S. business, this is a greenfield opportunity to build a
business virtually from scratch: success is limited only by your ability and
motivation.
About the position: We’re looking for an exec who has a proven track record of success
selling security solutions with an end to end product line, including
- Demonstrated achievement as a strong sales, marketing and business
development background, ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience
or potential for general management responsibilities
including operations and P&L
experience
- Able to put in place an overarching strategy based on shared business vision as
an integral company within the group portfolio of companies, but also an
ability to “Lead by doing”, a hands on exec who can personally
spearhead sales while building a team and keeping business on track to reach goal
- Proven People Manager in terms of both mentoring and team building, the
ability to motivate the “survivors” to enthusiastically embrace the
new vision and opportunity to succeed, tempered with the business judgment,
intestinal fortitude and communication
skills required to prune and upgrade the bench where warranted.
- Beyond security products experience, the successful candidate will have
sold integrated access control solutions
which require systems integrators to
implement, as part of a total solution
Target Profile: Successful candidate is
likely to have gained relevant experience working for another global security
solutions company, e.g. ADT Security Services (and alum
of Tyco Fire & Security); Advanced Security Controls; Bosch Security
Systems; Monitronics; UTC Fire & Security
(including GE Security, Onity, Lenel);
Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions; Ingersoll-Rand Security; Security divisions
of Siemens Building Technologies, Johnson Controls, and Automated Logic
(Carrier/UTC), etc.

includes six figure salary commensurate with relevant experience and recent
