Next Gen FAA Enterprise Architecture (EA) Systems Engineers (SEs): Join the "A Team"
this is a blank line longer than longest line below
    About the opportunity: Thanks to ongoing contract awards, we have an immediate need to build out our award-winning System Engineering Group. Highly regarded for successfully designing and developing large-scale, real-time, state-of-the-art C4ISR systems, we're now looking for (at least) three NextGen EA SEs, to join our team of proven superstars. If you thrive on challenging large scale, real time application system engineering opportunities and have a proven track record of systems engineering experience working with NextGen Enterprise Architectures for various FAA ATC projects, we want to hear from you.

    About the position: We’re looking for Next Gen EA Systems Engineers at all levels of experience to join our high performance team – Have you successfully developed NextGen EA products (e.g. Architectural, System, and Operational Views and Roadmap artifacts?) Do you have -- or do you know someone who has -- demonstrated experience using EA tools to support the timely and accurate production? If you've worked on one or more FAA ATC projects (e.g. have domain expertise), but do NOT have hands on experience with NextGen EA, we’ll consider comparable experience gained developing Enterprise Architectures within the DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF). If you've ever used IBM's Rational Systems Architect enterprise modeling suite of software, you can hit the ground running.

    These are all “cradle to grave” projects, so you’ll have the chance to work from requirements definition to technical spec development and modeling concepts of operation, from developing strategic architectures and technical blueprints to coding, integration and QA testing. You will need to bring experience in similarly large, complex real time systems engineering and development projects. e.g. air-traffic control or runway safety systems.

    Target Profile: We’re looking for someone who likes solving technical problems (e.g. design analysis, technical feasibility studies, systems and application testing). Candidates who have worked on FAA Next Gen EA systems engineering projects for organizations such as MITRE (CAASD), ITT, SAIC, Booz Allen, Metron Aviation, ATCorp, CSSi and Flatirons thrive in our fast-paced, highly collaborative culture.

    Best of Both Worlds: This is a "best of both worlds" opportunity: the autonomy of an entrepreneurial firm (e.g. end to end visibility on projects) with the stability and resources of a 300 person firm that has successfully completed over 50 projects for the FAA. And with a pipeline of contract awards well into 2020, the projects never get boring... they just keep on coming.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements: the successful candidate must

    • be a U.S. Citizen (i.e., currently hold or be immediately eligible for a security clearance)
    • have a strong technical background in
      • Real-time System Engineering, including: large scale, C4ISR systems design, requirements analysis and specification);
      • System Performance Engineering, Modeling and Measurement;
      • Next Generation Enterprise Architecture;
      • Software Architecture, Engineering, Design and Development;
      • large-scale Software Systems Integration and Testing;
      • Software Metrics;
    • possess a bachelor's degree (e.g. BSEE, BSSE) at a minimum: most of your time will be billable.
    • ) with experience using most (preferably all), of the following languages, tools, and design disciplines:
      • C and C++,
      • Java
      • DOORS
      • Rational Rose
      • UML
      • design patterns
    • references who can attest to strong interpersonal effectiveness and communication skills as demonstrated by successful interactions with other Systems Engineers and clients.
    • Experience with air traffic control systems and applications strongly preferred.

    Your Value Proposition If the majority of your experience has been spent with a large multi-billion defense contractor, you will enjoy unparalleled latitude and the satisfaction of managing a major program from beginning to end. Other SEs who have joined our ranks cite the "cradle to grave" responsibilities and their unhindered ability to work the full end to end scope of a project as one of the most satisfying aspects of working here. (Think best of both worlds: uniquely entrepreneurial culture with the financial resources and stability of an established firm)
    Target compensation package includes a competitive base salary, performance-driven bonus opportunity and comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation package will be tailored to the needs of the successful candidate, depending on 1) your relevant experience, 2) current / most recent compensation history, and 3) performance once on board.

    To apply or learn more: Please email your resume (preferably attached as a formatted word document), and salary history in complete confidence to ResumesAtBolandGroupDotTCom with subject line referencing "Enterprise Architect SE– FAA”.
    ** Local candidates only, please: Successful candidate must be currently living and working in the Washington DC metro area. **

    In a hurry? If you provide responses to the following questions when applying, you will receive most immediate consideration.
